Discussion:

Hmmm - you must all be giving this site a great deal of thought prior to feeding back.  This is good.  I will be patient.

The hope is that there will be sufficient constructive feedback to the development of my thesis on Comparative Strategic Culture Analysis to merit sharing.  In the event that my hopes are well based, the results will be posted here.

Constructive criticism is a great thing and I hope I see enough of it here to help produce an insightful and relevant thesis.

In anticipation I thank you.

20 July 2006 International Canadian Studies Institute I attended a dinner at the Ward Room to welcome visiting faculty from the US and was introduced to two concepts well worth inclusion and consideration in the overall research:  Strategic Game Theory and Political Psychology. I have done a little preliminary digging and found volumes of fascinating and very relevant material.  To those who contributed - many thanks.  More to come in the Raw Ideas page.

I am assuming that the site is a combination of informing people about you and about the concept/analysis that you are pursuing. Right now the site is confusing as to which is first and which is second. You have to decide, and then structure the site accordingly. Thus, if you want CSC to be the main topic and you as secondary, then you need to give CSC top billing. However, if you want the site to be about you, then you need to give yourself top billing and CSC lower. Your homepage gives these two equal weight and this will be confusing to a first time visitor. If you were to give CSC top billing, then I would change the title to something like:

Comparative Strategic Culture Analysis:
A graduate student's exploration

Even if you don't make this change, one content suggestion is to define comparative strategic culture and its analysis. You haven't done so. A website, especially one like yours that is about an unfamiliar subject, must draw in a viewer quickly and tell them what the site is about. Thus, I would give a brief definition/intro, with possible a link to a further page describing the concept in more detail.

I've restructured a little - the flow issue was a good point.  Sometimes I get too far inside a cloud of thoughts and can't see the impact of the weather it's creating.  Of course you've got me pushing the brain a little here on the definition of the concept.  There are a few out there that come close to what I have in mind, but nothing as clear and concise as what I need.  But that's why I'm heading to Prince George so I'll chew on that for a bit and see what I can come up with.
